11 Jun My Food Therapy Class Comes To An End & Giveaway Winners Announced!

After 9 months of learning, yesterday my Food Therapy class came to an end. When I was asked on the evaluation form what was the most valuable part of the entire course, without question it was the amazing friendships I made. We were the sixth group of individuals to take part in the program and since we all happened to be women, we named ourselves “sixters” (a play on the word “sisters”). The information I obtained would not only allow me to care for myself, it would also be a benefit to others who are dealing with illness, whether to treat their symptoms or the prevention of it. Along the way, we encountered unexpected obstacles and yet, I believe it made the experience richer and much more rewarding than I ever imagined.

For the grand finale, we celebrated with good food (as you’d expect at a cooking school) and our families were invited to attend as well. My classmates laughed at my husband and his experience with the juice cleanse we did as a group, we tearfully watched a photo presentation dedicated to our fearless leader, and finally we exchanged gifts and final thoughts. I spent the evening before preparing mason jars filled with granola (of course organic, gluten-free and naturally sweetened… yadda yadda yadda) and I was excited to share it with my sixters.

What an honor it was to have my daughters meet Annemarie Colbin, a trailblazing master teacher and author who let nothing keep her eye off the prize. It was incredible to hear her share the obstacles and opportunities that she has encountered opening up a cooking school. I must say, however, that the most memorable part of yesterday’s celebration was when Dr. Colbin expressed her gratitude to my eldest for already taking cooking classes and then allowed all of 3 of my daughters into her office.

So now as I begin the next chapter in my life, I want to thank all of those who loved and supported me along the way… it takes a village to do this when you have work and children.  Now I’m going to focus on the taking this message of health and healing to a whole…’nutha…level! Stay tuned 😉

With that said, I’d love to announce the lucky winners of the signed, best-selling books authored by my teacher and mentor, Dr. Annemarie Colbin.

Thank you for taking part in my first giveaway. It’s been so much fun watching The SPEACH online family grow!
