10 Sep Angie Flores – The DNC Speech You Might Have Missed
Dear Angie,
Last week, while most young adults (and many older ones) watched MTV’s VMA Awards, I was watching the Democratic National Convention via livestream. As soon as you stepped out on stage, I was in awe of your poise, grace and enthusiasm. You see, in many ways you remind me of my three daughters… or at least what I envision them to be in the future. And to be quite honest, you sorta look like them just older. Your hair, complexion and pretty smile all remind me of them. Since some may have missed your introduction of Dr. Jill Biden (after all you were competing with Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Lil Wayne), I am hoping that I can do my small part to share your message of inspiration to others.
If I met you, I’d ask you how you landed that awesome gig, what your upbringing was like, and how exactly you would like to work with children. If you inspire them the way you did me, I know you are doing what you were meant to do in this lifetime. So with that said, I wish you well on your journey as I know whatever you touch will surely turn to gold.
In the words of Julian Castro’s grandmother, “Que Dios te bendiga.” (May God Bless you)
Sincerely,
Me
