22 Mar What is health?
What is health? What does it look like? Is it thin? Is it fit? Is it young? Is it old? In my opinion, the best response to that question came from Dr. Andrew Weil who described health as “an inner state of resilience and balance, our body’s ability to heal itself or to bounce back.” This, my friends, should be the goal. Because of this definition, I like to call myself the happy-cell maker, it’s much more fitting than cancer survivor. I actually dislike that term (or pink ribbons) but I will leave that conversation for another day. We’re just getting to know each other and I don’t want to scare you away.
So that leads me to the next question. What are happy cells? It’s really another term for having a kick-ass immune system. While food is very, very… very important for your health, so are the other things that feed you. Joy should be a mandatory ingredient in all you do and negativity of all types should be avoided. I know this is easier said than done. Look at it this way, if you’re reading this that means your alive, breathing, and have the opportunity to make right now memorable. There are no do over’s in the game of real life. With that said, live your life like it’s golden because it truly is.
“There are only two days of the year in which nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow. That means today is the ideal day to love, to believe, to create and to live.” ~ Dalai Lama
